Origins
Custom-made for a summer competition, Summer was the perfect example of a blend for use in the warmer months. With the idea in my head already to create four seasonal blends, it was almost as though I'd planned it would become our Summer essential oil blend.
History
Made in February 2014, Summer essential oil blend was the first seasonal blend to join the Galaxy Aromatherapy range, and quickly became one of our top-selling essential oil blends - all year round. It's refreshing and light, and has been used by both women and men when feeling flat, needing a lift, or wanting to freshen the air at home or work. It's also become a firm favourite in our Natural Carpet Deodoriser.
Ingredients
Grapefruit, lime, cedarwood atlas, Scotch pine and lemongrass essential oils.
Texture
A very thin, runny liquid, with a clear to pale yellow colour.
Fragrance
Summer has a fresh, light, citrusy aroma with lemongrass, pine and cedarwood notes.
Use
A beautiful blend for any time of the year. It refreshes, lifts the spirits, helps to shake off winter blues and banish bugs which cause cold and flu, and it revives during hot weather. This blend should only be used in a diffuser as lemongrass can cause skin irritation. Add 2-3 drops to your diffuser for an average sized room to give yourself a much needed lift or to freshen the house when it hasn't been aired for a while - this is ideal after you've been away, or during winter if you're not opening windows because it's cold.
Recommendations for storage
Best refrigerated, or as an alternative, somewhere which stays cool all the time (bathrooms and heated rooms aren’t suitable). Storing in cool temperatures helps to prevent early deterioration of the natural ingredients, which are prone to oxidation (reaction with oxygen, which leads to deterioration of the product).
