Carpet Deodoriser

Origins

Carpet Deodoriser was made to freshen stale-smelling carpet and rugs, as a natural alternative to mainstream products.

History

Carpet Deodoriser was developed in spring 2017, to combat the smells carpets and rugs tend to have, without the synthetic ingredients, which cause problems for many of us. It has since been used with outstanding results, to freshen and repel smells.

Ingredients

Bicarbonate of soda & grapefruit, lime, cedarwood atlas, Scotch pine & lemongrass essential oils.

Texture

Powder, as you'd expect of bicarbonate of soda. This is sifted, so it's clump-free.

Fragrance

A zingy citrus aroma, with pine notes and woody undertones.

Use

Test on a small area (inside a cupboard is best) before use, especially on light-coloured carpet/rugs. For best results, pre-vacuum your carpet before applying Carpet Deodoriser. For ease of use, put some in a shaker jar, then sprinkle a generous amount over the area you're wanting to freshen, and leave for at least 1-2 hours. Avoid walking on carpet after applying. Vacuum thoroughly, to get all the powder out of the carpet.

Recommendations for storage

Store somewhere which stays cool all the time, out of the sun (heated rooms not advised). Storing in cool temperatures helps to prevent early deterioration of the natural ingredients, which are prone to oxidation (reacting with oxygen, which leads to it spoiling). Transfer to a sealed glass jar once opened, to avoid the powder attracting moisture, and keep it closed properly between uses.
