Softening Lip Balm Product Profile

Origins

Softening Lip Balm was made as a natural treatment for sore, dry and cracked lips.

History

Around since 2004, this is our product with the most varied use. It has a long history of use by both sexes at all stages of life, on dry, sore and cracked lips, to soothe cold sores, sore red noses from blowing the nose a lot during colds, itches, kids' ouchies, dry patches on legs and arms, very dry/cracked skin on the hands and feet, and has also been used on elbows, to soothe sore nipples for breast feeding mums, and my elderly great uncle even used it on his toe. This is a lip balm - and a multitude of other products, all rolled up into one.

Ingredients

Jojoba oil, beeswax, cocoa butter, MGO 400+ active manuka honey, infused calendula oil, vitamin E, rosemary antioxidant & neroli, geranium & petitgrain essential oils.

Texture

Like all balms it is solid and greasy, with a slight stickiness due to the honey, but if you use the right amount it disappears into the skin quickly.

Fragrance/taste

With a fragrance and flavour that is unmistakably honey-like, there is also a subtle aroma/flavour of the essential oils....which add floral and earthy citrus notes, and perhaps a little surprisingly, just makes it taste better.

Use

Anytime and anywhere - this is one to keep with you at all times, maybe even one in each room. As mentioned under history, although created as a lip balm, it's been used for all sorts of other things - and makes a wonderful, safe, 'magic balm' for young kids who have itches and bites which they think need medical attention, only you think otherwise.

Recommendations for storage

Store in a cool, dark place....somewhere which stays cool all the time (bathrooms and heated rooms not advised). If possible, store it in the fridge for a longer shelf life. Keep the lid fastened properly when not being used. If you keep it in your handbag, take care not to leave it sitting in the sun, or you may find it melts and when it hardens again it may have a grainy texture. If this happens it should still be okay to use, but not if it the aroma changes - this is one of the big signs that a product has gone off.
